
COVID-19 Vaccine Compliance Low Among Ohio Nursing Home Staff
Most residents of Ohio nursing homes—who are in the highest risk category—are receiving COVID-19 vaccinations; however, nursing home staff members are refusing the newly introduced immunization at alarming rates. According to Ohio Governor, Mike DeWine, 60% of nursing home staff have declined COVID-19 vaccination. Approximately 40% of COVID-19 deaths in the United States are among nursing home/long-term care facility residents or staff members, per the New York Times. Gov. DeWine urged Ohioans in high-risk groups to take the vaccination when first offered, as it is unclear when another opportunity may arise. Read more here.
