Leena Balicat, RDH, MS, is a clinical assistant professor in the Dental Hygiene Programs at the University of North Carolina (UNC) at Chapel Hill Adams School of Dentistry, Division of Comprehensive Oral Health, where she works with undergraduate dental hygiene students in didactic and clinical education. Prior to academia, she worked as a dental hygienist in private practice for 5 years. Balicat has a background in both education and research. Her research interests include the oral considerations of skeletal disorders and local anesthesia. She can be reached at lbalicat@unc.edu.
