Oral Pathology Textbook Translated Into Korean

The highly regarded oral pathology textbook, Oral Pathology for the Dental Hygienist, now in its 7th edition, was recently translated into Korean.

The highly regarded oral pathology textbook, Oral Pathology for the Dental Hygienist, now in its 7th edition, was recently translated into Korean. Published by Elsevier, the textbook has also been translated into Italian and Spanish.

First published in 1991, Oral Pathology for the Dental Hygienist is written by Olga A.C. Ibsen, RDH, MS, FAADH, and the late Joan Phelan, DDS. The textbook has been used by more than 300,000 dental hygiene students and practitioners. A world-renowned authority on oral pathology, Ibsen was an adjunct professor in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology, Radiology, and Medicine at New York University, College of Dentistry in New York City and an adjunct professor in the Department of Dental Hygiene at the University of Bridgeport in Bridgeport, Connecticut. She is a longtime member of Dimensions of Dental Hygiene’s Editorial Advisory Board and the recipient of the 2017 Esther Wilkins Lifetime Achievement Award.

Ibsen is currently working on the 8th edition of the textbook with a new co-author Scott Peters, DDS—an assistant professor of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology at the College of Dental Medicine, Columbia University Medical Center in New York City—and a cadre of esteemed contributors. The 8th edition will be published in the fall of 2021.
