Oral Health Resource Map Helps Patients Seeking Care
The North Carolina Oral Health Collaborative recently released a statewide oral health resource map to help patients find dental practices that are caring for patients with serious oral health problems.
The North Carolina Oral Health Collaborative (NCOHC)—a nonprofit organization dedicated to eliminating the barriers that impede the states’ residents from achieving and maintaining oral health—recently released a statewide oral health resource map to help patients find dental practices that are caring for patients with serious oral health problems. The goal is to keep patients with emergency dental needs out of already busy emergency departments during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Zachary Brian, DMD, MHA, NCOHC’s director, wrote, “We developed this resource map in part to support the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Adams School of Dentistry’s efforts to provide safe ways for patients to manage oral healthcare while reducing strain on the hospital systems. NCOHC’s practice site map will be updated regularly as new information is available.”
The map is available at: oralhealthnc.org/covid-19/.
