Old Dominion Educator Receives Teaching Award
Ann M. Bruhn, BSDH, MS, an assistant professor and continuing education coordinator at the Gene W. Hirschfeld School of Dental Hygiene at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia, recently received the 2017 College of Health Sciences Outstanding Faculty Teaching Award.

Ann M. Bruhn, BSDH, MS, an assistant professor and continuing education coordinator at the Gene W. Hirschfeld School of Dental Hygiene at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia, recently received the 2017 College of Health Sciences Outstanding Faculty Teaching Award. She was honored for successfully providing an engaging teaching environment using innovative approaches and technologies. Bruhn’s competency-based approach that links theory with real world challenges is highly regarded. A dedicated professor, Bruhn teaches oral radiology and clinical care to junior and senior students. She has also conducted and published original research and received grant funding to work on an innovative device for intraoral radiographic exposure of post-mortem remains. A frequent contributor to Dimensions of Dental Hygiene, Bruhn also serves on the journal’s Peer Review Panel.
