NYU Dental Hygienist Is Named the 2016 Educator of the Year
The 2016 Crest + Oral-B/American Dental Hygienists’ Association (ADHA) Educator of the Year Award was presented to Winnie Furnari, RDH, MS, FAADH.

The 2016 Crest + Oral-B/American Dental Hygienists’ Association (ADHA) Educator of the Year Award was presented to Winnie Furnari, RDH, MS, FAADH—an associate professor of dental hygiene and assistant clinical director at New York University (NYU) College of Dentistry—at the ADHA Annual Session in June in Pittsburgh. This coveted award honors an educator who demonstrates excellence in teaching, mentoring, and helping students achieve their goals.
Furnari is a seasoned educator who provides didactic and clinical education in NYU’s dental hygiene associate and baccalaureate degree programs. She has been an active leader in ADHA and serves several other professional organizations. Furnari is well known for her teaching, leadership, research, writing, and mentoring skills. She is a member of the Dimensions of Dental Hygiene Peer Review Panel and a fellow of the American Academy of Dental Hygiene.
