Courtney H. Chinn, DDS, MPH—director of the post-graduate program in pediatric dentistry at New York University College of Dentistry—is the recipient of a 5-year, $1.3 million award from the United States Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA). The grant was given to establish a new program: Growing Faculty Success in Community-Based Educational Settings, which is designed to expand access to dental care for underserved populations. The program seeks to recruit, develop, and retain faculty who remain committed to teaching students the importance of delivering quality, interprofessional, community-based oral health care to every population, including underserved pediatric, adolescent, and special-needs populations.
