Dimensions of Dental Hygiene Editorial Advisory Board member Jacquelyn L. Fried, RDH, MS, has been named to the Maryland Daily Record’s 2015 Top 100 Women list. For the past 20 years, the Top 100 Women program has honored outstanding female leaders who have achieved significant professional success, as well as dedicated their time and talents to community service.
Fried, an associate professor in the Department of Periodontics and director of interprofessional initiatives at the University of Maryland School of Dentistry in Baltimore, has been involved in dental hygiene education for more than 30 years.
The honorees were chosen from a pool of 400 nominations. After learning of this commendation, Fried told Dimensions, “I was surprised but honored to receive this acknowledgement. I know that my career as a dental hygienist has paved the way for any accolades I receive. I cannot emphasize enough to my dental hygiene colleagues to think big—there is no limit to what you can achieve.”
