Infection Control Advocate Receives OSAP Award
The Organization for Safety, Asepsis and Prevention (OSAP) presented Helene Bednarsh, BS, RDH, MPH, with the Dr. Milton Schaefer Award at its annual conference in June in Dallas.
The Organization for Safety, Asepsis and Prevention (OSAP) presented Helene Bednarsh, BS, RDH, MPH, with the Dr. Milton Schaefer Award at its annual conference in June in Dallas. The Schaefer Award honors individuals who continue to further OSAP’s mission to be the world’s leading advocate for the safe and infection-free delivery of oral health care. Named for one of OSAP’s founding members, the award recognizes exemplary service to the organization.
Bednarsh is the director of the HIV Dental Ombudsperson Program at the Boston Public Health Commission and dental director for the New England AIDS Education and Training Center in Boston. She is also vice president of HIVdent. She is a longtime and active member of OSAP, as well as a Dimensions of Dental Hygiene Editorial Advisory Board member.
