Dimensions of Dental Hygiene has always been on the cutting edge, posting every issue on its website since 2002 and jumping into social media. Once Dimensions’ founder Lorene G. Kent, RDH, BA, hired Kimberly Farrell to lead the journal’s digital operations, it was not long before it was clear that this was more than a one-person job.
Thus, in 2017, Michael Ferrari joined the Dimensions team as web designer. With a Bachelor of Arts from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco and a lifelong love of web and graphic design, Ferrari is an integral part of the journal’s digital operation.
A native of Connecticut, Ferrari met his fiancé in his home state while she was working at a local wildlife conserve. Her career took them on adventures from Vermont to Mississippi until they decided to settle in Southern California. Ferrari saw an ad for web designer at Dimensions of Dental Hygiene, and the rest is history.
“I could tell immediately that Dimensions was the exact type of place I’d always dreamed of working at. Everyone was incredibly friendly, and the environment was very welcoming and easy going. I work on maintaining our websites and turn our monthly publications into online editions. I also do various other web, graphic, and video projects. I often think about the saying, ‘If you love what you do, you’ll never work a day in your life.’ For me, Dimensions has proven that cliché true,” Ferrari shared.
