Dimensions Board Member Joins ADHA Leadership Team
Dimensions of Dental Hygiene Editorial Advisory Board member and frequent contributor, JoAnn Gurenlian, RDH, MS, PhD, AFAAOM, is the new director of education and research at the American Dental Hygienists’ Association (ADHA) as of August 2.

Dimensions of Dental Hygiene Editorial Advisory Board member and frequent contributor, JoAnn Gurenlian, RDH, MS, PhD, AFAAOM, is the new director of education and research at the American Dental Hygienists’ Association (ADHA) as of August 2.
Gurenlian is a highly accomplished educator, researcher, writer, and advocate for the profession. A former professor and graduate program director in the Dental Hygiene Program at Idaho State University in Pocatello, she is also a past president of the ADHA and the International Federation of Dental Hygienists. Gurenlian is also the 2015 recipient of the prestigious The Esther Wilkins Lifetime Achievement Award.
In her new position, she will support the educational and research interests of dental hygienists. “My goal is to work collaboratively to advance the discipline of dental hygiene,” Gurenlian commented.
