Dental Hygiene Professor Named to Texas State Board of Dental Examiners
Margo Y. Melchor, RDH, BSDH, MEd, EdD, associate professor in the Department of Periodontics and Dental Hygiene and community outreach director at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston School of Dentistry has been appointed to the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners.
Margo Y. Melchor, RDH, BSDH, MEd, EdD, associate professor in the Department of Periodontics and Dental Hygiene and community outreach director at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston School of Dentistry has been appointed to the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners. Melchor is one of nine appointees named to the board, which regulates the practice of dentistry and dental hygiene in the state of Texas. Her term will conclude in February 2021.
In addition to her academic role, Melchor speaks at local and national meetings and is actively involved in a variety of dental hygiene and dental organizations, including holding board appointments with the Hispanic Dental Association (HDA) Foundation, Colgate-Palmolive Global Partners, San Jose Clinic, and Texas Dental Hygiene Educators’ Association. Additionally, she is a past president and an active member of the national HDA.
