Application Cycle is Open for World Dental Hygienist Awards

The Sunstar Foundation, which has been dedicated to improving the oral health of the general public since 1977, sponsors the World Dental Hygienist Awards. Since 2007, the awards have recognized dental hygienists who have significantly impacted dental hygiene science, patients, the community, and the general public. The awards are presented every 3 years to an individual or group chosen by a selection committee, and are announced at the International Symposium on Dental Hygiene, which is hosted by the International Federation of Dental Hygienists.
The World Dental Hygienist Awards include two categories: research and activity/project. Practicing dental hygienists and students are eligible to apply. The research category honors the author(s) of an unpublished, original research paper that contributes to the body of knowledge in dental hygiene. The activity/project category highlights a dental hygienist who has completed a project that significantly impacted the oral health of patients, the community, or the general public.
Interested dental hygienists and dental hygiene students may apply online at: sunstarfoundation.org. Applications must be completed by January 14, 2019.
