New Intraoral X-Ray Systems Deliver High Image Quality,

Safety to Patients and Dental Office Staff

Addressing full range of dentists’ needs with a uniform high frequency x-ray platform

Rochester, New York, April 28, 2006 – Building on its popular intraoral x-ray systems  Eastman Kodak Company is introducing a new family of intraoral x-ray units designed to deliver high quality results with minimum radiation exposure at affordable prices.

The new KODAK 2100 and 2200 Intraoral X-Ray Systems utilize Kodak’s high frequency x-ray technology which reduces the radiation exposure up to 25% in comparison with standard generators. The x-ray technology on which both generators are based provides high-level and homogeneous image quality. Both x-ray units are fully designed and manufactured by Kodak, including the x-ray tube, providing a high level of reliability and consistent image quality throughout the entire image chain.

“With the increasing use of dental radiography, the demands of today’s dental professionals call for systems that can provide diagnostic accuracy and dose reduction to meet the growing demand for quality care” said Guy Villard, product line manager, x-ray systems, Kodak’s dental systems group. “This new line of intraoral x-ray units provide image quality and safety conditions in line with these expectations.”

Simplicity, Reliability, Affordability

The KODAK 2100 Intraoral X-Ray System (formerly marketed under the TROPHY brand name), is an easy to use x-ray unit offering high frequency technology that is affordable for most every budget. Equipped with a manual timer and a single adjustment knob, settings may be adjusted quickly and easily. The fixed tension 60 kV x-ray generator provides an excellent compromise between contrast and image definition.

Improved Performance, Total Control, Maximum Diagnostic Information

The KODAK 2200 Intraoral X-Ray System is a feature-rich x-ray unit that allows for high-quality images while minimizing radiation exposure. The pre-programmed electronic timer automatically calculates settings depending on the teeth to be examined and the bodyweight of the patient. The system is equipped with adjustable tension (60 or 70 kV) to accentuate contrast or levels of gray shading according to the examination required.

The new compact and intelligent design of both the KODAK 2100 and 2200 Systems provides outstanding ease of use, accurate positioning and flexible integration. Both x-ray units are available in a wide variety of mounting positions (wall, floor, mobile or ceiling mount) and 3 arm lengths to fit all practice environments. The timer can be mounted on the unit or remotely on a wall outside the operatory. A comprehensive range of accessories is available, including 3 sizes of collimators and a long cone.

The KODAK 2100 and 2200 Systems offer a full 2 year warranty for all the components.*

These new products are an integral part of Kodak’s dental imaging portfolio, offering full compatibility with existing KODAK digital radiography systems, including digital intraoral sensors and computed radiography systems, as well as dental films.

Demonstrating Kodak’s commitment to drive technological innovation in the dental care field, KODAK 2100 and 2200 Systems are being launched at the California Dental Association meeting in Los Angeles, CA on April 28th and will be showcased in Kodak Booth #402
