A Cost-Effective Solution for Dental Caries Treatment

Sharon Giron, BSDH(c), is a senior in the Dental Hygiene Program at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) School of Dentistry in Richmond, Virginia. She is a member of the Student Chapter of the American Dental Hygienists’ Association and serves as chair of the Community Health Committee. Madison Farnham, BSDH(c), is a senior in the Dental Hygiene Program at VCU School of Dentistry. She is a member of the Advocacy Committee for the Student Chapter of the Virginia Dental Hygienists’ Association. Prior to entering the VCU Dental Hygiene Program, Farnham worked as a dental assistant.

Kimberly Lintag-Nguyen, EdD, MSDH, RDH, is an assistant professor in the Dental Hygiene Program at Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry in Richmond. She serves as the program’s academic coordinator and chair of the Dental Hygiene Curriculum Management Committee. Teaching both junior and seniors in preclinical and clinical courses, Lintag-Nguyen directs courses on infection and immunity, dental materials, and dental hygiene theory II, III, and IV. Her research interests include patient and clinician health and safety, radiology, and student engagement. She is a member of Dimensions of Dental Hygiene’s Editorial Advisory Board. Marion C. Manski, MS, RDH, is an associate professor and director of the Dental Hygiene Program at VCU School of Dentistry. A dental hygienist for more than 40 years, her research interests focus on access to care, pain management, and early childhood caries. In 2016, Manski was named the “Mover and Shaker” honoree in Dimensions of Dental Hygiene’s annual “Six Dental Hygienists You Want to Know.” In 2017, she received the Irene Newman Award from the American Dental Hygienists’ Association. She is also a member of Dimensions’ Editorial Advisory Board.
