SRP acceptance

What is the best way to get patient compliance for SRP? I have most patients comply when I go over the evidence of their periodontal disease state and explained the infection that is present within their mouths, but there are always a few that just don't "get it" or seem to care, they just seem to either opt to come back for the appt and never show or just want a prophy. I feel defeated at this point.
