Program Introduces Disadvantaged Teens to Careers in Dental Hygiene

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences wants to show high school students that a vast array of careers awaits them once they graduate and provide information on the additional education and/or training needed to begin working in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, or health sciences. Through its Pathways Academy Program, which serves low-income students, the university recently hosted a career day that highlighted health-related professions, including dental hygiene.
