KaVo Kerr Group Is Presenting Sponsor for 25th Annual Oral Health America Gala

ANAHEIM, CA, February 18, 2015 — In conjunction with National Children’s Dental Health Month, West Coast University Dental Hygiene students will examine, clean and treat children’s teeth for free at the Smile Camp to “Defeat Monster Mouth” this Saturday Feb. 21.

“Children’s teeth are meant to last a lifetime, and a healthy smile is important to a child’s self-esteem,” said Jo Anne Schram, the clinic administrator for WCU’s Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene program. “With proper care, a balanced diet and regular dental visits, their teeth can remain healthy and strong.”

While at Smile Camp, parents will learn about when children should have their first dental visit, ways to prevent early childhood tooth decay, when to expect changes from primary to permanent teeth, proper brushing and flossing techniques, facts about thumb sucking and the importance of regular dental examinations.

The Smile Camp will begin at 8 a.m. on Saturday Feb. 21 and last until 3 p.m. at the WCU Orange County campus, located at 1477 S. Manchester Ave. in Anaheim.
