Profluorid Varnish + BioMin®

VOCO claims that America’s No. 1-selling 5% sodium fluoride varnish, VOCO Profluorid Varnish, just got better, announcing the launch of Profluorid Varnish + BioMin, featuring BioMin bioglass. This new advanced dual-action formula adds additional calcium and phosphate ion release to the varnish.

BioMin bioglass is an innovative technology developed at Queen Mary University of London, UK, and has been successfully used in bioactive toothpaste for years.

The invisible, flavorless bioglass dissolves in the presence of saliva, releasing calcium and phosphate ions that work synergistically with fluoride to improve the efficiency of the varnish.

Compared to conventional fluoride varnishes, Profluorid Varnish + BioMin® also offers enhanced protection against dentin hypersensitivity. BioMin® releases ultra-fine crystals that penetrate deep into the dentin tubules, where fluorapatite is formed to seal the tubules. Combined with fluorapatite formation on the enamel surface, this results in increased enamel hardness, improved resistance to acid attacks, and a long-term desensitizing effect.

The product is based on VOCO’s proven, long-lasting advanced pro-colophony formula, allowing the varnish to be applied in a clear, thin layer. Its excellent taste, neutral smell, and smooth feel ensure high patient acceptance and makes application easy for dental hygienists. Rapid ion release begins within the first 15 minutes, with efficacy nearly doubling within 60 minutes.
