Northeast Colorado Health Department representatives are helping kids get healthy through its new Healthy Schools program, which includes oral health services. Under the program, a dental hygienist provides free services to student in grades K–12 at schools in six counties—Logan, Morgan, Phillips, Sedgwick, Washington, and Yuma.
The program offers oral health, tobacco prevention, youth bullying, and suicide prevention services. Under the oral health program, a dental hygienist provides student with fluoride treatment or sealants on first molars. The clinician will also refer children to a dentist, as needed.
