DIY Dental Hygienist Racks Up More than a Million Followers on Instagram

Laura Avery, RDH, a practicing dental hygienist, loves do-it-yourself (DIY) projects and when she and her husband found a rundown old cottage up for sale, they jumped at the chance. Located in the Corvalis area of Oregon, Avery entertains her viewers with the flops and fireworks of renovating a home built in 1918, with every project handled by her, her husband, and their four kids. A practicing dental hygienist since 2011, she uses her technical skills in both fields, helping patients improve their oral health and intricately restoring old-fashioned style elements such as installing teeny tiny hexagon tiles during a remake of one of the cottage’s bathrooms.
