EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES
After reading this course, the participant should be able to:

  1. Define residential care facilities (RCF) and the populations they serve.
  2. Discuss the effects of aging on the oral cavity.
  3. Identify the most common oral diseases found among older adults living in RCFs.
  4. List the services that dental hygienists are prepared to provide to an older adult population residing in institutions.
