CDC Walks Back Mask Recommendation to Prevent Monkeypox

When clusters of monkeypox cases began popping up in countries where the viral disease is not normally found, including the United States, the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) initially recommended mask wearing to prevent transmission. On June 6, the mask recommendation was removed in response to questions regarding the possibility of transmitting monkeypox via aerosols.
