Roberta Shaklee, RDH, DDS, began her career in dentistry as a dental assistant. She went on to become a dental hygienist and then a periodontist. Currently, Shaklee practices full time in Denver as a periodontist and teaches part-time at the University of Colorado School of Dentistry. She lectures nationwide to groups of dentist and dental hygienists. She is past president of the Metropolitan Denver Dental Society, where she was the first woman to hold an executive office in the organization. Shaklee is also an editorial advisory board member for Dimensions of Dental Hygiene.
