Gerald L. Vale, DDS, MDS, MPH, JD, is a senior forensic dental consultant with the Los Angeles County Department of Coroner. Over the past 37 years, he has conducted or supervised more than 3,000 forensic dental identification cases and 450 bitemark investigations. He is a retired clinical professor at the University of Southern California School of Dentistry, Los Angeles.
