Mercy Foundation Receives Funding

The Mercy Foundation, a Roseburg, Oregon based nonprofit organization dedicated to making health care widely available, has received $70,000 to support its Healthy Kids Outreach Program Dental Initiative.

The Mercy Foundation, a Roseburg, Oregon based nonprofit organization dedicated to making health care widely available, has received $70,000 to support its Healthy Kids Outreach Program Dental Initiative. The program provides free preventive dental services in school-based settings to children in Douglas County, Oregon. The Oregon Community Foundation donated $50,000 and the Pacific Source Foundation provided $20,000. The funds will go toward improving dental hygiene, oral health education, and prevention for the children of Douglas County, many of whom live below the federal poverty level. The outreach program provides children with dental screenings, sealant application, fluoride varnish, and health education at school sites.
