AAPD Asks Parents to Fight Mouth Monsters During National Children’s Dental Health Month
February 9 – February is National Children’s Dental Health Month, and the AAPD invites parents and caregivers to fight the leading chronic infectious disease among children in the U.S.: tooth decay.
As “The Big Authority on Little Teeth,” AAPD recommends fighting the Mouth Monsters by following these three steps:
-
Establish a Dental Home – or home base – for your child’s oral health care by finding a local pediatric dentist.
- Help your child develop healthy oral habits early, by brushing as soon as the first tooth appears and explaining tooth decay in kid-friendly terms.
- Take advantage of the resources available onmouthmonsters.mychildrensteeth.org that will help keep little teeth healthy, including informative articles, practical tips and tools, and an easy-to-use pediatric dentist finder.
