
Bipartisan Group of US Legislators Proposes $908 Billion in COVID-19 Relief
United States House and Senate leaders have reached across the aisle to come up with a new stimulus package to support Americans through the global pandemic, which has shown no signs of abatement. The $908 billion proposal would provide $180 billion to unemployment insurance, enabling unemployed Americans to receive a $300 benefit each week for 18 weeks. The Paycheck Protection Program, which supports the viability of small businesses, including dental practices, will receive another $288 billion. Vaccine testing and distribution, transportation industries, housing assistance and student loan deferment programs are also part of the stimulus plan.
