University of Minnesota School of Dentistry Joins Effort to Transform Pharmaceuticals

The Center for Integrated Material Science and Engineering for Pharmaceutical Products—an interprofessional collaborative dedicated to transforming the way the world develops medications—has a new member: the Minnesota Dental Research Center for Biomaterials and Biomechanics out of the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry. The collaboration hopes to make the pharmaceutical development process more efficient by using principles of material science and engineering. The group also invites industry partners, some of whom are competitors, to join the discussion in the hopes of creating innovative drugs that solve some of the world’s most perplexing health problems.
