Health care reform is at the top of the Obama Administration’s Agenda, and Congress is embroiled daily in debate about how we will pay for health care reform and what it will look like. Every President since Franklin D. Roosevelt has proposed some form of health care reform, with universal coverage remaining an elusive goal. Until now. This week, join Oral Health America and Cover the Uninsured Week in letting our elected officials know that it is time to reform our costly and ineffective health care system. Don’t let policymakers off the hook! 46 million Americans today are without health insurance. 100 million Americans lack dental insurance. The numbers of Americans without health or dental insurance are increasing. This morning, President Obama is fielding questions from the American public. He received 385,536 votes on 12,639 e-mail questions from 23,688 people on health care reform. The Administration and Congress are paying attention to what Americans are saying. Please take your turn and write your representatives in Congress today. Let them know that: Now is the time to provide universal health care coverage and access to high-quality, cost-effective oral health care services for all Americans. Find a list of your elected officials here: http://www.usa.gov/Contact/Elected.shtml. Share your experience in contacting them with us at info@oralhealthamerica.org. We look forward to hearing from you.

Oral Health America improves public health by eliminating oral disease, especially for our most vulnerable citizens, by educating and empowering communities to provide access to care, and advocating for policies that create oral health parity.
