The ADA’s SmileCon 2025 Will Be the Meeting’s Swan Song
The American Dental Association will end its flagship conference after SmileCon 2025 in Washington, DC. Changing attendee habits and rising costs lead to reimagining future professional engagement.
The American Dental Association (ADA) has announced that its final SmileCon meeting will be held October 23–25, 2025, in Washington, DC, bringing an end to the event after years of connecting dental professionals across the country. While the conference fostered community, innovation, and professional growth, its attendance never fully recovered to pre-pandemic levels. Combined with escalating costs, the ADA determined that 2026 and future years will take a new direction.
The decision marks a significant shift in how the ADA envisions its role in continuing education and professional networking. Its House of Delegates meetings will continue as scheduled, and new programs are being explored to meet the evolving needs of the profession.
