The American Dental Association (ADA) and the Forsyth Institute have joined forces to create the ADA Forsyth Institute, a pioneering organization dedicated to advancing oral health through scientific innovation and research. This groundbreaking collaboration was announced at the Forsyth dentech innovation conference in Somerville, Massachusetts, attended by thought leaders from various sectors, including government, research, industry, academia, and venture capital. The ADA Forsyth Institute aims to be a global leader in dentistry by advancing oral health through biological research, public health outreach on local and global scales, and technological innovation. This initiative will build on the rich history of both organizations, with the Forsyth Institute having made significant contributions to dental research, including the discovery of how fluoride prevents dental caries and the development of the first local antibiotic for periodontal disease.
