Running Dentist From Estonia Builds Huge Following

Deniss Salmijanov, MD, Dentistry, who just recently finished his dental degree at the University of Tartu in Estonia, is famous not for his skill as a dentist but rather his times on the track. Salmijanov, who has picked up the moniker “World’s Fastest Dentist,” is a mid-distance runner with a big presence on social media. His best time for the 800-meter race is 1:47 and he has won two national indoor track competitions. While competing recently at the 2023 FISU World University Games in Chengdu, China, Salmijanov picked up 2 million Instagram followers so it’s unclear whether he will begin practicing dentistry full time or continue competing on the track.
