RECORD PATTERSON DENTAL LEADERSHIP SUMMIT DONATION HELPS FUND DENTAL LIFELINE NETWORK PROGRAMS
Patterson Dental and its business partners raised a record contribution of more than $200,000 for Dental Lifeline Network (DLN) programs at the recent 2011 Patterson Dental Leadership Summit in Minneapolis, according to DLN (formerly National Foundation of Dentistry for the Handicapped).
“This amazing level of financial support – a partnership of Patterson and its business partners – contributes directly to the millions of dollars in services donated each year by dentists and labs to thousands of vulnerable people with disabilities or who are elderly or medically fragile,” DLN President Fred Leviton said. “The Patterson Leadership Summit contribution alone will enable DLN to provide the support volunteer dentists and labs need in the coming year to treat more than 800 people. We are stunned and humbled by the generosity of the industry.”
Through Patterson’s annual Leadership Summit, which focuses on key initiatives for the coming year, hundreds of thousands of dollars over the years have been donated in support of the DLN mission.
This long history of philanthropy is a commitment that Patterson Dental President Paul Guggenheim says the Company intends to continue honoring into the future. “Our Company culture is grounded in giving back and we intend to continue that commitment in the years ahead,” he said. “The dentists who participate in Donated Dental Services (DDS) through Dental Lifeline Network perform outstanding services to those in need and we’re grateful to them for their selfless efforts.”
Through its 15,000 volunteer dentists and 3,200 volunteer laboratories, Dental Lifeline Network provides comprehensive dental care to underserved people in all 50 states. Since the organization was founded in Colorado in 1986, more than 106,000 people have received $200 million in donated dental care.
