Less Expensive Options for Locally Delivered Antimicrobials

Unfortunately, there are a limited number of locally delivered products and they are all expensive. With Arestin, the dentist can issue a prescription for it that the patient can have filled at the pharmacy. Some patients find that the drug may then be covered by insurance.
The other drug I recommend is Atridox. Unlike Arestin, this product comes in a prefilled syringe and uses a smaller cannula. The drawback is that you can only use the syringe for one patient, so if there is leftover product, you have to discard it due to risk for cross contamination.
