Price for Pfizer’s COVID-19 Vaccine Set to Quadruple

Americans have been receiving COVID-19 immunizations—from the first dose to booster shots—without having to pay since they first became available. Now that the federal government’s agreement with Pfizer, the manufacturer of one of the most widely used COVID-19 vaccines, is set to expire, the drug company will quadruple the price to $110 to $130 per dose. Currently, the cost per dose is approximately $30. The demand for COVID-19 vaccines has dropped precipitously, which may have influenced the company’s decision to increase prices.
