One-Injection HIV Treatment Is in Development

A team of Israeli researchers is investigating a single injection treatment for human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). They created a vaccine that encourages type B white blood cells to make antibodies against HIV. The type B white blood cells must be genetically engineered to accomplish this feat. The vaccine is effective in animals and the results have been published in Nature. This opens the door to not only the ability to prevent acquired immunodeficiency syndrome but also cervical and head and neck cancers. Click here to read more.
