New Report Calls on States to Extend Post-Partum Medicaid Benefits

A new report from CareQuest Institute urges states to lengthen post-partum Medicaid benefits, which include dental care, from 60 days to 12 months in an effort to improve maternal health outcomes. The American Rescue Act created the opportunity for states to lengthen such benefits and 35 states have done so. The United States has faced an increasing incidence of maternal death, especially among minority communities. The report “The Role of Medicaid Adult Dental Benefits During Pregnancy and Post-Partum” also implores states to include adult dental coverage in their Medicaid plans. Click here to read more.
