
New Addition to Dimensions’ Discovery EXPO
In addition to top notch speakers covering the most important topics in dental hygiene, we have added a Legislative Update to keep you up to date on the most significant factors impacting the profession.
The second annual Dimensions’ Discovery EXPO is happening Friday and Saturday, August 23 and 24 at the Hilton Anaheim in Southern California. Speakers on topics ranging from implant maintenance to the role of Botox in dentistry will share their expertise, providing attendees with key insights on the most important topics in dentistry.
Additionally, we have added a special Legislative Update to both Friday and Saturday’s schedules. These small group informal presentations will focus on recent legislative changes affect our profession. This program is repeated twice per day, so everyone will have the opportunity to participate at their convenience. The forum provides .5 units of CE.

The presenters, Jessica N. August, MSDH, RDH, CDA, FADHA, and Jeannette Díaz-Olivera, DHSc, MPH, MSDH, RDH, RDHAP, FADHA, represent the American Dental Hygienists’ Association (ADHA) and the California Dental Hygienists’ Association, respectively. Jessica N. August, MSDH, RDH, CDA, FADHA, is the director of health professions at North Idaho College in Coeur d’Alene, where she oversees multiple healthcare programs. With more than 15 years of clinical and academic experience, she is an active member of the ADHA and currently serves as president-elect.

Jeannette Díaz-Olivera, DHSc, MPH, MSDH, RDH, RDHAP, FADHA, is a trusted leader, alternative practice clinician, and dental hygiene educator with nearly 20 years of experience across private and public sectors. She integrates clinical practice, higher education, and community-based care to advance dental hygiene education, foster collaboration, and improve access, particularly for older adults and individuals with disabilities. Actively involved in dental hygiene associations at all levels, Díaz-Olivera shares her expertise as a speaker on advocacy and public health. Her presentations cover grief literacy, compassion fatigue, adverse childhood experiences, and sensory-informed care for individuals with disabilities. Her research focuses on men in the dental hygiene profession, with broader interests in qualitative research, grief studies, and health equity. Díaz-Olivera advocates for self-regulation of dental hygiene in all 50 states to expand professional autonomy and access to care. She has built a career centered on compassion, inclusion, and service, shaping her teaching, mentoring, and patient care. Díaz-Olivera is a member of the Alpha Eta Allied Health Honor Society and an inaugural Fellow of the ADHA. She currently teaches full-time at a Cerritos College in Norwalk, California, and serves as an adjunct faculty member at the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in its graduate-level dental hygiene program.
