Nevada to Provide Dental Care for Residents With Disabilities
The state of Nevada’s Medicaid program has received $2.5 million to provide dental care to residents with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) who often struggle to access professional oral healthcare services. The funds will enable the state’s Medicaid program to offer endodontic therapy, preventive care, restorative treatment, prophylaxes, and sedation. According to the United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, more than 700,000 Nevada residents have a disability with 11% experiencing an IDD. The funds were provided by the federal government through the American Rescue Plan Act and a Title XIX grant. Click here to read more.
