Legacy of Young Dentist Lost to Violence Lives on Through New Foundation
On February 29, Benjamin Harouni, DDS, was tragically murdered while practicing at his El Cajon, California, dental office, which he shared with his father, Jack Harouni, DDS. The young dentist, a graduate of the Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry at the University of the Pacific in San Francisco, was known for his generous spirit. Following his death, his family has launched the Hearts Over Hate Foundation to honor Harouni’s memory and support victims of violent crimes. The foundation’s goal is to provide financial and emotional assistance to victims of violence and their families, inspired by the outpouring of support they received from their local Jewish community. Harouni’s passion for dentistry, rooted in a desire to make people feel good about themselves, drives the foundation’s mission. Through Hearts Over Hate, the family hopes to carry on the young dentist’s legacy by promoting peace and compassion, even in the face of adversity. Click here to read more.
