ADA, CDC, OSAP Provide Ebola Resources For Dental Professionals
As of October 17, 2014, dental professionals are advised of the following:
A person infected with Ebola is not considered contagious until symptoms appear. Due to the virulent nature of the disease, it is highly unlikely that someone with Ebola symptoms will seek dental care when they are severely ill. However, dental professionals are advised to take a medical history, including a travel history from their patients with symptoms in which a viral infection is suspected.

New OSHA Ebola Safety and Health Topic Web Page
To assist workers and employers, The US Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has launched a new Ebola Web page that provides information about the disease and how to protect workers. It includes sections on the disease itself, hazard recognition, medical information, standards for protecting workers, control and prevention, and additional resources.

CDC Develops a New, Faster Lab Test for Enterovirus D68
The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has developed and started using a new, faster lab test for detecting enterovirus D68 (EV-D68) in specimens from people in the United States with respiratory illness. This test will allow CDC to more rapidly test remaining specimens received from states since mid-September.
