Incarcerated Population in Oregon to Receive Dental Care

Incarcerated individuals in the Deschutes County Jail in Bend, Oregon, will now receive dental care due to a partnership with a mobile dental bus. Medical Teams International will visit the correctional facility once per month providing what is often the inmates first dental visit. Caries and periodontal diseases are common, and officials note that decreasing pain and addressing longstanding dental diseases helps the incarcerated improve their overall health and supports efforts to maintain sobriety.
