All dental professionals encounter patients with complex medical histories, including both acute and chronic conditions. The purpose of this course is to provide clinicians with practical guidance about the information needed to support decision-making with treating medically complex dental patients safely. Tips for writing a good medical consultation, including what medical records to request and how to interpret pertinent laboratory tests, will be reviewed. Published clinical practice guidelines will be shared throughout the course discussion.
