The MI Family of Products

• MI Paste and MI Paste Plus are tooth crèmes containing Recaldent^® and, in the case of MI Paste Plus, fluoride to treat enamel white spots, that treat sensitivity and noncavitated lesions. The crème applies easily with a finger or brush and adheres to gingiva, pellicle, hydroxyapatite, and plaque, making the components necessary for remineralization available in saliva when needed for enamel repair. The tube is easy to carry and can be used during the day after eating, when dry mouth occurs, or anytime sugar is consumed.
• MI Paste One is a toothpaste containing casein phosphopeptide-amorphous calcium phosphate (CPP-ACP) and fluoride. It is like having toothpaste and MI Paste Plus all in one; a single step to treat sensitivity, prevent white spot lesions, and remineralize enamel surfaces.
• MI Paste One Perio is a toothpaste containing Recaldent (CPP-ACP) and stannous fluoride. The ingredients provide long-lasting protection from biofilm, helping to reduce gingival inflammation and prevent gingivitis, along with providing the benefits of bioavailable calcium, phosphate, and fluoride for reducing sensitivity and increasing remineralization. MI Paste One Perio eliminates the need to use separate applications for gingival and enamel health.
• MI Paste One Kids is perhaps one of the most exciting products in the MI Family in my opinion. The combination of CPP-ACP and fluoride create the perfect building block for fluorapatite, allowing for protection and repair of enamel from caries-causing acid challenges. Effective for stain removal, it is low foaming and a mild abrasive. Children sensitive to the foaming texture of most toothpastes will more likely tolerate brushing with MI Paste One Kids.

In-Office MI Products

These at-home use products are complemented and enhanced by in-office MI products for optimal oral health.

• MI Varnish is the only fluoride varnish containing Recaldent. The calcium and phosphate in CPP bind to teeth, biofilm, and oral mucosa, making it available for remineralization. MI Varnish has long durability, is not sticky, and does not create any color change when applied.
• Fuji Triage EP Glass Ionomer should be in every sealant kit. The advantages to placing glass ionomer sealants include the ability to place in a moist field, sealants that as self-articulating to the bite, and, for young patients who have high caries risk factors, the opportunity to place a sealant on a tooth before it fully erupts.
• Fuji Triage EP has the added benefits of 24 Recaldent. It inhibits biofilm adherence and releases fluoride for 24 months after placement. The product is self-bonding and, in addition to sealants, can be applied to exposed root surfaces­to eliminate sensitivity and protect from demineralization.
