ADHA Institute for Oral Health Gearing Up for In Motion 5K: Run, Walk, Fun
The American Dental Hygienists’ Association (ADHA) Institute for Oral Health (IOH) is gearing up for this year’s In Motion 5K: Run, Walk, Fun.
CHICAGO, IL – The American Dental Hygienists’ Association (ADHA) Institute for Oral Health (IOH) is gearing up for this year’s In Motion 5K: Run, Walk, Fun. The 5K will take place on Friday, June 21 at 8 p.m. at Waterfront Park in Louisville, KY during ADHA’s 2019 Annual Conference.
The In Motion 5K is the premier national fundraising event for IOH, the only foundation for the important work of dental hygienists. For the last three years, the IOH has raised funds through 5K registrations and donations to advance the dental hygiene profession. This year, the foundation is aiming to raise $70,000 for scholarships, research and community service grants.
“Our increased fundraising goal this year will help even more dental hygienists advance our profession through scholarship, service, and research,” says Tammy Filipiak, RDH, MS, 2018-2019 IOH chair. “By expanding our reach, through the generous support of donors, we are improving oral healthcare throughout the country.”
In honor of ADHA 2019 being held in Louisville, the IOH has announced that the In Motion 5K and After Glow Party will be Kentucky Derby-themed. Winners will be chosen for the best team costume, the top runner and walker, and the team and individual that raised the most funds for the event at the After Glow Party immediately following the race.
Registration for the In Motion 5K is now open. Both individuals and teams can register for the 5K. To register or donate, please visit the official 5K website.
