News From NYU College of Dentistry: Journal JADE Publication: AAAS Prize; Faculty 1000Prime Designation

• NYU College of Dentistry’s Journal of the Academy of Distinguished Educators, Vol.2, is Now Online

New York University College of Dentistry (NYUCD) announced today that the second issue of NYUCD’s online-only, open-access magazine, the Journal of the Academy of Distinguished Educators (JADE) is online now at: http://www.nyu.edu/dental/ade/jadeindex.html.

New York University College of Dentistry’s (NYUCD) Dr. Donna Albertson, a tenured professor of oral and maxillofacial Surgery and a member of the Bluestone Center for Clinical Research (BCCR) faculty and the NYU Oral Cancer Center (NYU OCC) faculty, has been awarded the American Academy for the Advancement of Science’ 2013 Newcomb Cleveland Prize for her co-authorship of an article, “The Connectome of a Decision-Making Neural Network,” which appeared in the journal Science 27 July 2012.

New York University College of Dentistry researcher, Dr. Shoshana Yakar, an associate professor of Basic Science and Craniofacial Biology, has had a research article recommended for inclusion in F1000Prime, a collection of over 145,000 recommendations of top articles in biology and medicine, contributed by the F1000 Faculty. Her article, “Reductions in serum IGF-1 during aging impair health span,” published in Aging Cell, was recommended as being of special significance in its field by Faculty of 1000 Member Andrzej Bartke.
