American Dental Hygienists’ Association Names New Director of Communications

CHICAGO, November 15, 2012 —

The American Dental Hygienists’ Association (ADHA) is pleased to announce Randy Craig as the new Director of Communications. As the leader of the division, his responsibilities will include overseeing publication of Access magazine and the Journal of Dental Hygiene, the association’s public relations efforts and social media, as well as brand-development and marketing.

Craig holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Ball State University in Muncie, Ind. Prior to joining ADHA, Craig was the Acting Director of Communications for the National Parent Teacher Association (PTA). He worked for the Inland Press Association for 13 years before moving to the National PTA.

“I am thrilled to be a part of the ADHA team,” Craig said. “I look forward to serving the more than 150,000 registered dental hygienists in this country and helping educate the public about the key role dental hygiene plays in total health care.”

Craig’s editorial background and advocacy experience will play a key role in developing a multifaceted communications strategy to move ADHA forward. His data–driven mentality has translated into strong operational skills and a thorough understanding of the critical role a communications division plays in serving the members and staff of a strategic organization.

As the 100th anniversary of dental hygiene approaches, Craig and the rest of ADHA’s Communications Division will be at the center of many activities including the launch of ADHA’s new website next month.
