Bergman to speak at OSAP Symposium

ANNAPOLIS, MD: February 18, 2009 – The Organization for Safety and Asepsis Procedures (OSAP) has announced that Stanley M. Bergman, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Henry Schein, Inc., will present the 2009 John Zapp Memorial Lecture during the OSAP Symposium, June 12th at the Marriott Legacy Park in Plano (Dallas), Texas. The John Zapp Memorial Lecture was established in 2006 to build bridges with global leaders to promote knowledge exchange about oral infection and safety both for the patients and deliverers of care. Previous lecturers included leaders from the World Health Organization, National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research, and FDI World Dental Association.

This year’s OSAP Symposium will feature a number of special events in honor of the organization’s 25th anniversary. For the first time, the Professional Dental Assisting (PDA) Conference will be held concurrently with the OSAP Symposium. The PDA Conference will feature informative developmental sessions, all geared to the dental assistant. Another first will be the John Molinari Charity Golf Tournament on June 11 at The Tribute Golf Links in The Colony. An auction held during the Symposium will give attendees a chance to bid on a wide array of exciting trips, business opportunities, gift items and unique experiences.

The OSAP Symposium is designed for infection control and safety instructors, lecturers, authors, and consultants; researchers; healthcare workers responsible for infection control in their facilities; and dental sales and marketing personnel in manufacturing and distribution. During the Symposium, leading experts on infection control and occupational health and safety will share the most current information of critical concern on these important topics.

Stanley Bergman will deliver the John Zapp Memorial Lecture from 4:00 to 5:00 pm on Friday, June 12th. Bergman has been Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Henry Schein, Inc, since 1989, and a Director of the Company since 1982. Henry Schein, Inc. was a Founding Member of OSAP.
