(Charlotte, NC—January 23, 2009) 3M ESPE has donated more than 70,000 units of CavityShield® 5% sodium fluoride varnish to the National Children’s Oral Health Foundation (NCOHF). The company is also a generous founding underwriter of the Foundation. Sixteen NCOHF Affiliates have received units of CavityShield® varnish, the world’s first unit-dose 5% neutral sodium fluoride varnish.
Kevin Thomas, 3M ESPE Industry Relations Manager, said, “3M believes that helping build and sustain healthy communities is an important priority. We are proud to assist the efforts of NCOHF in giving underprivileged children access to desperately needed dental care.”
“Additional contributions of varnish from 3M ESPE are enabling NCOHF Affiliate community-based programs to expand and enhance efforts to prevent children’s needless pain and suffering from pediatric dental disease,” said Fern Ingber, NCOHF’s President and CEO. “The healthier smiles of the children who are receiving these treatments will underscore our great appreciation to 3M for this generous contribution. We are fortunate to have such a great corporate citizen working with us.”
